D – ONE PRESEASON PROGRAM
D-ONE Preseason Program is designed to get our athletes in shape with a focus is on Mental Toughness! Athletes who make it through this program are going to be ready for the mental and physical demands of their upcoming seasons. Practices will consist of live wrestling, drill matches, sparring, speed and agility training, and strength and conditioning. Typical ages for this are ages 9-18 and are experienced wrestlers with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Please email us to find out which group your athlete belongs in.
TEAM MCWC FOLKSTYLE SEASON
DATES: NOV – MARCH
Team MCWC Folkstyle Season is our training for athletes from kindergarten – 8th grade. OUR FOCUS IS ON GROWTH. We come out with a competition schedule that we will be at to coach athletes but competition is not mandatory. Over the course of the season our athlete will learn several of moves and drill them thousands of times. All levels of experience are welcome if the athlete attending can pay attention and focus during practice. There are 4 Levels in this program.
Level 1: Beginners ages 5-8
Level 2: Wrestler beyond basics ages 6-10
Level 3: Experienced wrestlers ages 8-15
Level 4: Elite wrestlers with experience in our system
TEAM MCWC FREESTYLE/GRECO SEASON
LATE MARCH – MID MAY
Team MCWC Freestyle and Greco Season is about exploring the International styles of wrestling. Most of the country has embraced Folkstyle as their main focus and we believe that they are missing an important element of wrestling; the ability to use your throws and creative exposure points to put your opponents in danger. This is why the international styles are so important to the growth of our athletes. It really “cleans up” our offensive techniques and it helps our athletes become more dangerous in the sense of being able to hit big moves when needed. Plus, we want our athletes to pursue being world and Olympic champions and you cannot do that in Folkstyle. Typical ages are 6-18 and have at least 1 year experience with wrestling.
SUMMER CAMP SEASON
We run our summer camps throughout the month of June. Summer Camps are really what separates us from other academies. At our camps, we give our system for success to each athlete who signs up for a camp, whether they are committed members or 1st timers. We are inclusive to all wrestlers who want to get better. We Use summer camps to show the bulk of our technique and get hundreds of reps in each technique. At each camp you can expect to get between 10-16 different techniques in certain areas of interest and the rest of the time is spent drilling and sparring in those areas. This is the best way to get the moves to really sink in. Here is a list of camps we offer. We offer a wide range of camps including:
