Freestyle/Greco Practice Bundle

Once purchased, we will place the athlete in the correct group for their training. Athletes cannot jump around on groups unless discussed with coach. Teaching wrestlers the Olympic styles—freestyle and Greco-Roman—provides numerous benefits that can enhance their overall skill set and development. Here are a few key reasons why it’s important: 1. Expanded Technical Skills: These styles force wrestlers to develop skills in areas like mat awareness, transition wrestling, and explosive scoring opportunities, making them more versatile and adaptable. 2. Better Body Positioning and Control: Greco-Roman, in particular, sharpens an athlete’s ability to control and dominate opponents with upper-body techniques, which can translate into better clinch work and scrambling in folkstyle. 3. Improved Neutral Game: Freestyle’s focus on takedowns and counterattacks challenges wrestlers to refine their neutral positioning, setups, and finishes. Exposure to this fast-paced scoring system can improve their ability to score cleanly and defend effectively in folkstyle matches. 4. Crossover Conditioning: Training in these styles can elevate a wrestler’s endurance and physical preparedness, which benefits their folkstyle performance. By integrating Olympic styles into their training, folkstyle wrestlers gain a well-rounded skill set that improves their performance, competitiveness, and appreciation for wrestling as a whole.
